Nestled on the southern edge of the beautiful Blackmore Vale, the cottage is perfectly positioned for a relaxing countryside escape.
From the doorstep, you’ll find excellent walking and cycling routes that wind through rolling hills, peaceful valleys and traditional Dorset countryside. The popular Gaggle of Geese pub is just a ten-minute stroll away, while the village shop provides everyday essentials and local produce.
Buckland Newton also makes an ideal base for exploring Dorset. The historic towns of Dorchester and Sherborne are both within easy reach, while the spectacular Jurassic Coast, Weymouth’s sandy beaches and numerous family attractions are all within comfortable driving distance.

The Gaggle of Geese
This award-winning freehouse pub sits in the heart of the Dorset countryside and is a favourite with both locals and visitors. With five acres of gardens, a skittle alley, shepherd huts and camping facilities, it’s much more than a traditional village pub.
The menu focuses on homemade dishes prepared using locally sourced ingredients, alongside daily specials, wood-fired pizzas and seasonal barbecue options. Families, walkers and cyclists are all warmly welcomed.

Old Chapel Stores
The village shop is well stocked with fresh milk, local meats, fruit, vegetables, bread, cakes, newspapers and everyday essentials. It’s a convenient stop for supplies during your stay.

Fish & Chip Van – Visits Buckland Newton on the last Tuesday of most months at the village bus shelter opposite the school.
TikkaTrak – Freshly prepared takeaway curries are available every second Wednesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Burger Van – Usually visits on Friday evenings.
