Pleasant Spot is a charming countryside retreat in a wonderful Dorset location. Despite its peaceful setting, there is a convenient local shop nearby and a welcoming village pub within easy reach. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, our only neighbours were a couple of friendly horses, which added to the rural charm.
The cottage was exceptionally well maintained, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped, truly feeling like a home away from home. The excellent internet connection also made it easy to work when needed, combining comfort and practicality perfectly.
Ideally situated in the heart of Dorset, Pleasant Spot provided easy access to many of the county’s highlights, including the Jurassic Coast, Sherborne, Cerne Abbas, and numerous picturesque villages and attractions. Our host was incredibly helpful, offering fantastic recommendations for places to visit, scenic walks, and wonderful local restaurants. She was always available to assist if needed, helping to make our stay both relaxing and memorable.

Pleasant Spot is a beautiful countryside cottage, offering plenty of space and comfort for a relaxing Dorset getaway. The cottage is well equipped and thoughtfully furnished, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for families, friends, and four-legged guests alike.
Its location is ideal, with a short walk to a local village shop and the friendly Gaggle of Geese pub. Many of Dorset’s most popular destinations, including Lyme Regis, West Bay, Bridport, Abbotsbury Swannery, Weymouth, and Poole, are all within easy reach, making Pleasant Spot an excellent base for exploring the county.
The surrounding countryside offers fantastic walking and cycling opportunities, with stunning views at every turn. We particularly appreciated the secure enclosed garden for our dogs and the fantastic summer house with its pool table, which provided great entertainment after a day of exploring. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
